Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan shared critical data about the bank’s financial strength and financial discipline with the public. While Karahan announced that net reserves excluding swaps were at the level of 40 billion dollars as of September 25, he clearly stated that public resources would not be used for fund payments.
The statement is considered as an indicator of the reserve management strategy and financial discipline policy carried out by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). This level reached by reserves is closely monitored in terms of markets’ expectations for economic stability.
