AKP member Serkan Bayram made claims that would shake the political agenda and argued that President Erdogan’s personal popularity is far above the current party base. In his statement, Bayram drew attention to it, claiming that “even if President Erdogan closes the party, he will reach a higher vote rate”.
Claiming that there was serious unrest and indignation in the society, Bayram claimed that citizens were afraid to make their voices heard in the current political atmosphere. These words, which had wide repercussions on political lobbies, sparked new debates on freedom of expression and political tendencies in society.
