Lavrov’s Harsh Criticism of NATO: We Have Not Forgotten the Past

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has taken a hard line against Nato’s rhetoric that it is a defensive alliance. Recalling the past military operations of the alliance, Lavrov said Russia is extremely cautious and vigilant against such claims.

Noting NATO’s interventions in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Libya, Lavrov stressed that the past actions of the alliance did not coincide with what was said. The Russian minister said they heard what was said but kept their eyes open for their strategic security.
