Reaction to Social Media Censorship before the Constitutional Court

A group gathered in front of the Constitutional Court and protested against the censorship and access barriers imposed on social media platforms. During the action, a citizen symbolically expressed his reaction by hanging the image of Leftist Newspaper, the first account whose access was blocked in Türkiye, on the railings.

The action drew attention to the effects of restrictions on social media on freedom of expression, and emphasized that restrictions on digital channels harm democratic rights. During the protest, past examples of access barriers were reminded and criticisms were made against legal processes.
