Izmir Republic Square Closed Before NEW Party Protest

Security measures were put into effect before the protest demonstration planned to be held by the YENİ Party in Izmir today. Republic Square, one of the busiest points of the city, was closed with barriers by the police forces against possible security risks.

While it was observed that extensive security measures were taken in the area, it was reported that traffic flow and pedestrian traffic around the square were taken under control. Police units are on alert in the region to ensure public order during the protest.
