Attack at School in Istanbul: Statement on the Situation of Injured Students

The attack on children by a student who entered a school in Istanbul, wearing his school uniform, created great panic. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül announced that the attacker was studying at another school in the same neighborhood and attacked children indiscriminately.

Providing information about the health status of the injured students after the incident, Governor Davut Gül stated that 5 students were about to be discharged, 2 students were receiving treatment and one child was in surgery. It was stated that the injured students’ injuries were not life-threatening.
