Political scientist Timur Soykan drew attention to the political risks that could be created by the course of the investigation and the possible testimony of Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya. Soykan suggested that Kaya’s testimony could trigger a process that would be difficult to manage for the ruling wing.
Claiming that it was a strategy to limit the scope of the investigation to fund managers only, Soykan claimed that an attempt was made to hide the political dimension. Making evaluations on BirGün TV screens, Soykan stated that this risk is the main reason why the political leg of the process is covered up.
